Great. Attractive. No splinters...
I almost passed this toy over because of another reviewer's comments about splinters and unfinished wood. Maybe that person got a dud but I couldn't imagine someone being so irresponsible as to put an unfinished wooden toy onto the market. Isn't that illegal anyway? Anyhow, there wasn't a splinter in sight. This toy is not only one of the more affordable push-toys on the market but it's sturdy (no tipping over), solid, attractive and has several areas of interest for the child to explore.

I bought this when my son was about 10 months old and just on the cusp of walking. He never used it for that purpose and only used it to pull up a couple of times; however considering the way the base is designed, had he chosen to, I think it would have been helpful in teaching him to balance.

Now at 1 he's a solid walker and loves to look in the mirror, clank on the "marimba" and push the wooden farm animals on the side along their path. This is a great toy which I know we'll...

Cute but useless and potentially dangerous
I bought this walker because I prefer to purchase wooden toys for my son over plastic stuff that will never biodegrade. It's a lovely-looking toy, but unfortunately it is poorly designed for its purpose as a walker or activity station.

First and most importantly, the base of the walker is too shallow (front to back) and/or the wheels are too small -- it frequently threatens to tip forward when my son pushes it. This toy is not ergonomically designed for use as a push-toy. If I were not constantly hovering over him while he uses it (and I am usually no helicopter parent), I have no doubt he would have fallen on his face on top of the walker by now. NOT SAFE.

Second, the "xylophone" barely makes any tones. There should be a cut-out of the face of the walker behind the keys so that they can reverberate better. As it is, the mallet (the string of which, furthermore, is barely long enough to reach the leftmost key) makes nearly the same sound hitting a...

This sturdy but stylish durable wood cart is brimming with built-in activities, lots of storage space in the heavy nylon pocket, and an anti-tip braking function for beginning walkers. perfect
Great wheels and nicely designed. We have had about six or seven of these types of units, either as gifts or as hand-me-downs. They were either flimsy or very, very loud on hardwood floors. This unit is nearly perfect. Quiet, smooth wheels, easy turning and quality components. It also shows up assembled!

A bit quick for beginner walkers
This cart is indeed small. As long as you recognize this then you won't get a shock as one reviewer did. I wanted a smaller cart so this fits the bill for me. The cart looks and feels sturdy and does indeed come already built (always a big bonus) The basket is great for a dolly or any toy that they can squeeze in there. The shape sorter is functional although my daughter gets a bit frustrated when she can't find them after putting them through the holes. They do slip back under the basket so she can't see them but it's not a big issue. Something age will sort out. The colored beads on the poles really have now where to go so they are just for twisting around really. The wooden circles move smoothly (on mine) around the tracks and back. I have two negatives.

1) The cart has no wheel friction control (I thought it did, my fault for getting confused with another wooden carts features) This makes it a little too quick for my beginner walker even with a deep pile carpet. I...
Cute, but very tiny
When the box arrived, I was a little confused because it was so little and I had heard that the item arrived assembled and ready to go. I thought to myself "Well, maybe I have to assemble it."

Well to my surprise I opened the box to find a mini push cart, about half the size that I was expecting! It must be perfect size for infants! Despite how I feel about it, my 1 year old thinks it's great. We have carpet flooring so the tall sturdy wheels make it much easier to fly across the room. If she's still playing with it at 2 years old and it hasn't fallen apart, I will up the star rating!

I'll admit... it's cute.

p.s. She's almost two years old, and she is still playing with it!! 1 up

Not safe for little walkers
We were very excited when we saw this toy in the store. It is exactly what we were looking for - a walking toy for our little guy (11 months) that was quite simple looking. We were very disappointed when we put it together. It's extremely unstable. The front is far too light (even when piled with multiple heavy hard cover books!) and therefore is difficult for our little guy to use as leverage to pull himself up.

Once he is standing, the cart slips out of his grip for a few reasons. First, with the lighter front end, it tips toward him. Since he is new to walking, he cannot compensate for the tipping. The speed of the wheels makes it zoom away from him, which would have sent him down face first if we hadn't been holding onto him already. Even without the handle (which my husband removed, hoping that it would make the cart a bit safer) the cart will tip over and speed away from him. In the short time that he played with it, I cannot count how many times the cart sped away...

Don't buy for beginner walkers
We bought this walker for our 10 month old son and it is completely unsteady. He is quite a mover and wants to walk fast......this push walker completely topples over with the slightest amount of weight on the push bar.....not even usable. I am returning it today for the radio flyer walker!
Works well for our 12-month-old
We got this as a one-year-old Birthday gift for our daughter. She loves it. She is taking a few steps, but still drops down to crawl when traveling more than a foot or two. We haven't had problems with instability at all. Basically, she uses her own muscles to stand with it and walks around until she bumps into a wall. Then she unloads and loads the blocks. Works great. I think it really depends what type of early walker you have, which can be so variable around this age. If your child is able to stand up on their own, without grabbing onto anything, from a squat, but isn't walking yet (as ours is), this product is perfect. As an added plus, it looks nice. It's colorful, but not garish. And wood is always better than plastic in my book.

Product Features :

• Stable base for early walkers
• 24 colorful shapes
• Quality Craftsmanship from Baltic Birch plywood and hardwood
• Innovative design
• Great educational value

Disappointing!!
I was so excited to buy this for my baby, who was just starting to pull up on things. What a disappointment! It was easy enough to assemble, and he LOVED walking with it--when it was working. The screws do not stay in. They work their way out with gentle use and eventually the whole thing falls apart. Now we've lost a screw so it can't be used at all until we find a replacement. Totally unsafe and I can't believe how poorly it holds up, as expensive as it was! I'll not be buying large/assembled items from Plan Toys again, that's for sure--no matter how cute. :/

Great!
We had been searching for a good quality, safe and non-toxic walker toy for our little boy and settled on this one. We love all things by Plan Toys and we definitely recommend this one! Wasn't too difficult to put together, the click-clack sound is not bothersome like many noisy plastic toys, and the bag is roomy enough to hold quite a few things that our little guy likes to push around! He is 10 months old and the height is perfect for his tall build. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the wood that the back wheels are attached to actually drags the ground... not the wheel itself. Either way it was easily fixed as husband shaved the legs under the back wheels just a bit to make the wheels touch. Overall it's great and should last many years :)
Manufacturer Flaw
I ordered the activity for my son at eleven months right after he started walking - I picked it after looking at many walkers because I thought that the basket feature would give it some longevity even after he was walking well. I was excited when it came because it had lots of details that I knew he would play with.

Unfortunately the cart was defective - one of the screw holes was misaligned so it was impossible to assemble. I assumed it was a fluke since Plan Toys typically makes really high quality toys so I exchanged it for another. The replacement had the exact same defect which means it is a manufacturing problem. Thankfully Amazon made returning both defective carts as easy as they could (I just hate having to bother)

We bought the Radio Flyer Walker Wagon instead. We are very happy with it - now at fourteen months he is running around on his own but still loves playing with it and I think his interest will actually last far longer than it would have for...

A Hit!
The cart is really sturdy and made of heavy plastic. It was also fairly easy to assemble once we realized what all the pictures in the directions meant. The directions have no words! We bought the cart for our 1 year old granddaughter's first birthday, but her 3 year old brother also found it to be a lot of fun! It doesn't come with any "groceries" so we made sure we put some small empty boxes in it.

~*~*~SOLID & STURDY~A GREAT BUY~*~*~
If you are looking to buy your child a solid and sturdy cart that will hold up to any rough play, multiple children, can be used indoors and out and will last for years, then look no further. As any Step2 product we have used, this is very well made and would be a breeze to clean if it ever gets dirty. It also comes fully assembled :)

The way the basket part of this is, makes it work very well for both a cart and a baby buggy, They can lay their baby down with a blanket and even some baby supplies and off they go(it also has the front seat for a doll to sit). I also like that this basket doesn't have any holes so they can put anything at all in this and not have to get annoyed that it falls out. Also this has a place under the basket that you can put stuff just like a real cart(if I were a kid I would be really excited about that feature...heck, I am an adult and I think it's a neat feature)

This easily rolls on carpet and bare floors and will smoothly go over...

Step 2 does not disappoint!
Above all, the thing I liked most about this grocery cart was that I pulled it out of the box, FULLY ASSEMBLED. Did not have to do a thing. This was a very pleasant surprise after finishing the assembly of my daughter's Step 2 Kitchen on Christmas Eve...OY VEY! Like most Step 2 products the construction is solid and of excellent quality. My only thought is that this cart should not be used as a "learning walker" type of toy...it can be fairly tippy. I would stick to the suggested 2 and up recommendation to avoid some nasty spills. My daughter has clocked endless hours pushing her doll around and shopping.

This cart does not pose a threat of damage to your floors or walls on impact and if your child acidentally bumps you from behind, it will not cause any pain or permanent damage to your heels. I cannot necessarily say that for the Mellissa & Doug metal cart that seems to be quite popular. I would certainly buy this particular product again.
1st one has bad wheels but amazon quickly sent a replacement and it's great!
First one had bad wheels, one was always off the floor no matter what. Emailed amazon and they shipped a new one that day and it arrived two days later. They even arranged for the old one to be picked up from our house for the return at no cost. Thanks amazon! The second one was great, no problems with wheels at all. Both of my girls love pushing the cart and we like the shelf on the bottom. They go shopping with their dolls and put their groceries away in their play kitchen.

Product Features :

• Low and wide cart shape is easy to handle, even for early walkers, and its durable, large wheels roll smoothly

Daughter loves pushing it around
My daughter loves pushing it around. HOWEVER. Due to insufficient packaging, the red paint on the wagon was already worn off in several places. I kept it, because it was a Christmas present, but was dissappointed in the oversight. The colors are fun and bright and it's very sturdy. I was just sad that the paint was worn, and it could have easily been avoided.
